In 1999, Lisa Duff (pictured right) was led by God to Bangladesh, one of the poorest countries in the world. Through God’s leading, she, along with Rose Murmu, began a school for 14 poverty-stricken children whose parents could not afford to educate them. This free school grew quickly, and within 2 years, over 250 children were coming to a new school building each day. The school was named Light The World School, and 25 years later, over 7000 children have received a free or low-cost education.
God has shown us that education is the key that sets people free from their prison of poverty.

“Lord, when did we see You?…” Matthew 25:37
On Lisa’s first trip to Bangladesh, she watched as a small crippled girl, living in a courtyard visible from her bedroom window, sat alone in the dirt. Unable to walk, the little girl was often crying. She would crawl a short distance, scribble in the dirt and cry some more. Occasionally another child would arrive to feed her a bit of rice.
One evening, after the child’s parents returned from work, Lisa & Rose went to meet the family.
